Saturday’s action saw the Louisville Kings dominate the DC Defenders 30-13, while the Birmingham Stallions edged past the Dallas Renegades 21-17 in an overtime thriller.

St. Louis Battlehawks 31, Columbus Aviators 20

For the Aviators, Jalan McClendon went 20-for-28 for 153 yards and two touchdowns, with Tay Martin recording seven receptions for 55 yards and a score.
Game recap: The Aviators entered the matchup after a strong victory, but their defense struggled early, allowing St. Louis’ potent offense to build a commanding 24-7 halftime lead. Perez orchestrated the attack, scoring a rushing touchdown on the opening drive and later adding a 14-yard passing score late in the first quarter. Although McClendon posted better numbers on paper—153 passing yards, two touchdowns, and a 71% completion rate—the Battlehawks offered a more balanced offensive approach, efficiently finding the end zone through both the air and ground. St. Louis amassed 304 total yards (198 passing, 106 rushing). Jarveon Howard led the rushing attack with 55 yards, while Kylin James contributed 41 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Perez, the team’s third starting quarterback this season, guided the balanced offense to its fifth win in his first start.

Rogers’ two touchdown passes both went to Black—a 9-yard score with 43 seconds remaining in the second quarter and a 6-yard touchdown with 7:55 left in the third. Wide receiver Isaiah Winstead led the Kings with 62 receiving yards, while Louisville out-rushed DC 145-89 and recorded four sacks. Despite holding a 414-323 advantage in total yards, the Defenders were undone by a missed first-half field goal and four second-half turnovers.
