Departing Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka has chosen AC Milan over Juventus for his next move, according to German outlet AZ. The 31-year-old German international, whose contract with Bayern expires this summer, is set to sign a three-year deal with the Serie A giants worth €5 million per season.

Per the Munich-based tabloid, Bayern will host a farewell party for Goretzka on Wednesday, marking the end of his eight-year stint at the club. He will also receive a formal send-off before Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against 1. FC Köln at the Allianz Arena. His final appearance for Bayern could come in the DFB-Pokal final against VfB Stuttgart on May 23 in Berlin.

Goretzka was substituted at half-time in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Wolfsburg as a precaution after being struck in the head by a free-kick. “Leon took a brutal hit to the head from the free kick and initially felt fine. But at halftime, he said he was a bit dizzy. He didn’t feel right, so we decided he should stay in the dressing room,” Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund explained after the match.

Bayern coach Vincent Kompany added that the injury was “not serious.” “But we are at a stage where, if a player feels something, we have to make the right decisions,” Kompany said.
