Fresh tensions have surfaced at Real Madrid regarding the on-field dynamic between Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe, following another challenging week for the Spanish giants.
A recent report from Carrusel Deportivo suggests that there is growing internal skepticism about how effectively the two forwards can play together. The report indicates that the partnership between the two stars is currently failing to deliver results.
“They don’t click, and the team performs worse when the Frenchman is on the pitch,” commented Anton Meana. His remarks have reignited the debate over Mbappe’s second season at Real Madrid, especially after the painful El Clasico loss to Barcelona.
Journalist Questions Mbappe’s Adaptation
Meana also offered a sharp critique of Mbappe’s current situation at the club. He pointed to a lack of adaptation from the Frenchman since his arrival, saying Mbappe is not contributing enough to the team’s overall structure. According to Meana, even players within the dressing room are aware of the problem.
“He’s doing nothing to adjust, and he isn’t making an impact. His teammates know it. There’s no solution,” Meana asserted.
Real Madrid’s Numbers Without Mbappe
Statistics have further fueled the debate about Mbappe’s influence. Prior to the loss against Barcelona in El Clasico, Real Madrid had won eight out of ten matches played without Mbappe — an 80% win rate.
In those games, Madrid averaged 2.50 goals per match while conceding just 0.90 goals. These figures have naturally intensified scrutiny over how the team performs with Mbappe on the field.
