Chelsea’s ownership group, Blueco, faces fresh criticism after Strasbourg head coach Gary O’Neill publicly questioned the club’s January recruitment. The remarks add to mounting pressure from fan bases at both Chelsea and Strasbourg, who have grown increasingly hostile toward the owners.

O’Neill, who replaced Liam Rosenior at Strasbourg after Rosenior’s short stint at Chelsea, did not hold back in his assessment. Speaking to L’Equipe, he said:
“I need two top strikers. The owners want to give me the means to perform next season. But it is also necessary to improve the club culture, the quality of the players, the depth of the workforce. We missed each other in January, on the transfer window. We weakened instead of improving the group.”
The comments are the latest in a series of public rebukes from managers associated with the Blueco network, as the ownership group struggles to balance expectations across its two clubs. With Chelsea fans already vocal in their displeasure and Strasbourg supporters similarly frustrated, O’Neill’s criticism underscores a growing sense of discontent behind the scenes.
