According to a report from *Bild*, Bayern Munich’s honorary president Uli Hoeneß has stirred tension with midfielder Konrad Laimer. During a recent DAZN interview, Hoeneß publicly discussed Laimer’s salary cap and drew comparisons to star striker Harry Kane, suggesting the Austrian is not as vital to the team. This comparison has reportedly frustrated Laimer’s camp.
Laimer, whose current contract runs until 2027, is in talks for an extension but negotiations have hit a deadlock. Sources indicate that the player’s side considers the previously reported €15 million annual package—including bonuses and signing fees—inadequate. Instead, Laimer’s demands could reach up to €20 million, a figure that would place him among Bayern’s top earners and is deemed unacceptable by the club.
The prolonged standoff shows no signs of a quick resolution. With both sides far apart, the future of the contract remains uncertain, and a lengthy impasse appears likely.
