The Chinese Football Association (CFA) has officially announced a disciplinary decision against Shanghai Shenhua’s foreign defender Wilson Manafá, who has been handed a three-match suspension and a fine of 30,000 yuan for violent conduct during a recent Chinese Super League (CSL) match.

According to the official statement, the incident occurred in the 11th round of the CSL, during Shanghai Shenhua’s 2-2 home draw against Chongqing Tonglianglong. In stoppage time of the second half, Manafá was shown a red card after committing a retaliatory foul on Chongqing player Zhang Zhixiong.

As a result, the Portuguese defender will serve a mandatory one-match suspension plus an additional three-match ban, meaning he will miss Shenhua’s next four fixtures. These include an away match against Yunnan Yukun, home games against Wuhan Three Towns and Shenzhen Xinpengcheng, and another away trip to Qingdao West Coast.
