Jorge Martín delivered a commanding performance in the MotoGP sprint race at Le Mans, securing his 18th career sprint win and reigniting his championship campaign. The 2024 world champion started from eighth on the grid but charged through the pack to seize the lead, showcasing his trademark speed and racecraft.

With this victory, Martín moves to 102 points in the standings, closing to within just six of championship leader Marco Bezzecchi. The Spanish rider’s triumph stood in stark contrast to the disappointment of compatriot Marc Márquez, who crashed out on the penultimate lap at Turn 14.

Márquez, the defending champion, was seen limping after the accident and subsequently visited the medical center for assessment. His availability for Sunday’s main race, where he was set to start from second, now hangs in doubt.

Rounding out the points-scoring positions behind Martín were Francesco Bagnaia, Marco Bezzecchi, Pedro Acosta, Fabio Quartararo, Joan Mir, Ai Ogura, Álex Márquez, and Franco Morbidelli.
