On December 16, Koreshkov was appointed head coach of the team. Under his guidance, Traktor finished sixth in the Eastern Conference standings at the end of the regular season. In 32 regular-season games under Evgeny Koreshkov, the black-and-whites recorded 18 wins. In the first round of the Gagarin Cup playoffs, Traktor lost to Ak Bars with a series score of 1-4. The hockey club thanks Evgeny Gennadyevich for his work and wishes him success in his future coaching career,” the statement from Traktor’s press service read.
Koreshkov took over a team that faced early-season struggles and managed to guide them to a playoff berth. Despite the quick exit, his tenure saw a respectable win rate in the regular season. The club now begins the search for a new head coach ahead of the next campaign.
